As the bowl season kicks off this weekend there are two games that could be worth watching, especially if you want to watch a couple QBs that could be decent mid to late round selections.
The Las Vegas has Utah against Colorado State. CSU QB Garret Grayson is an interesting prospect, was coached by a really good HC in Jim McElwain, now the Florida HC. CSU has OT Ty Sambrailo that will go against Utah's DE Nate Orchard, a pretty good match up between two guys who will go in the first 70 picks or so.
Then you have the Camelia Bowl with South Alabama against Bowling Green. South Alabama QB Brandon Bridge is the most intriguing QB prospect once you get past the top few rated QBs. South Alabama also has TE Wes Saxton that has some mid round potential.

Was looking at the Bowl lineup for Saturday and these were the two games that jumped out at me for all the same reasons. Got the DVR set to record for these games, I am especialy looking forward to seeing Bridge. The first weekend of Bowl season is a great chance to see some of the guys we have talked about for a few months who don't get much exposure. Its nice to see some of the prospects from the non-power conference in the spotlight.

If we stay in a 3-4 this Zach Vigil from Utah St. has been all over the field. Good size at 6'3" 240lbs. and can be the thumper that replaces Harris with maybe our 7th rounder. I'm not sure how he is in coverage but he looks good today......I always like those high motor type players.

He will be playing in the Shrine Game, so he will have another chance to impress the scouts.

He was the MW defensive player of the year and has the size too be a thumper at the next level only in a 3-4. Maybe Nick Bellores replacement long term with some ST abilities and a chance to be something more. He is limited athletically but he has a motor.

Brandon Bridge has a cannon for an arm and what looks like a real quick release, but boy is he raw. Everything is a 100 mph fast ball - and he has not been overly accurate so far tonight. He has some tools, but he looks like a guy who is going to need a couple of years with the right NFL coaching.

Damn, I wish I wasn't swamped with work and Xmas shit today. I really wanted to get a close up look at these Grayson and Bridge since I doubt we'll get Mariota or take Winston.

I see Colorado got whacked with no running game they were able to come after Grayson. Did any of you see the game ?

I see Colorado got whacked with no running game they were able to come after Grayson. Did any of you see the game ? I watched part of the game -- mostly in the first half. What I saw was a very accurate, one read QB - if his primary receiver is open, he can get the ball to him in the right spot. However, if that primary read was taken away, he didn't look like a guy who went through progressions very well. Bit of a long, slow delivery. CSU as a team was overmatched by Utah, so it may not have been the best game to get a read on what the kid can do. He has accepted a senior bowl bid, so it will be interesting to see what he does in Mobile. Looks to me like a mid-round project who will need a couple of years to sit behind a veteran and learn.

Thanks for the review, yes, I figured it might be hard to get a read on Grayson if he is running for his life.

It looked like Bridge was trying to show everyone how strong his arm is. I don't think you can realistically expect him to get him on the field for a couple years. I think when a coach gets a hold of him and tells him, "look we know you have a tremendous arm, stop trying to show it off", he will show a little promise.

The BYU-Memphis game was sweet. I was able to catch it on my DVR. However, only about 12-14 prospects combined in that game
Anyone going to a start a new thread to preview tonight's and tomorrow's bowl games? I know, I know, not a lot of prospects in these upcoming games. In fact Navy's best prospect is their long snapper (No really I'm not kidding. The guy's name is Joe Cardona (#93) and has been invited to the Senior Bowl).
Their was a guy back on JI who always had the inside scoop on Fresno State so I'm going to watch the Hawaii Bowl. I'll be checking out WR Josh Harper (#3) and FS Derron Smith #13 and maybe Jordan Taylor (#15) for Rice.
