lets go back to what beerfish was saying though... what are really supposed to be doing here about OLB? Who's even really a target? I can't think of anyone honestly that i'm overly interested in past the first round. I think they have to lean on FA to address the Pass-Rush. I just don't see the draft providing a lot of worth while guarantees James Cowser - Southern Utah Curt Magitt - Tennessee Victor Ochi - Stony Brook Yannick Ngakoue - Maryland Jatavis Brown - Akron Kamalea Correa - Boise State Matt Judon - Grand Valley State You can add Kyler Fackler and Jordan Jenkins.

I'll have to reconsider. Those guys are like 4-6th rounders though. Just like Captain Wyoming I slotted into the 7th, they all feel like big maybes... I dunno. maybe i'm just feeling beat down from years of late round Pass rushers showing up exactly no where in the NFL. I feel like they're the blood diamonds of defense, like QBs to offense. The real good ones are the usual suspects; or lauded prospect There is that Norfolk guy i'm a fan of.

Any mock offseason that does not cut Cumberland at least twice is useless.
Seriously, I just started watching Coleman and I'm a big fan so far. Great change of direction and he looks natural at the position. You know I hate Henry in the second, want no part of him in any round. I'll get to Ifedi soon enough because everything I read garners a third round pick.

Tell an ignorant guy like me why Coleman is any different than K Wright. Not saying hes not they just have similar builds, same gimmicky offense, etc. Baylor doesn't seem to hot in producing skill position players... Coleman has crazy separation skills, like potential Antonio Brown agility.

Unfortunately that is how most of these OT's are in this draft and it sucks because it is a position of need and it has been neglected for years by our FO. Any thoughts on LeRaven Clark? I see a total project and I would pull the trigger in the 3rd if he is still around.

Given the Browns just hired Paul DePodesta, I imagine they'll be scouting the box score and the numbers. Re-reading Moneyball right now actually and DePodesta is the bloke in charge of spitting out the numbers of the baseball prospect.

He's what everyone looks for in a tackle, but don't play worth a darn. a Player I like is Tyler Johnstone from Oregon.
Watch his feet and change of direction and what happens to his man when he locks onto him..

He needs to be coached up big time and I won't even argue that. I see a guy that has the perfect measurables, that a good coach can mold into a starting LT and LT's are scarce in this draft. He has everything you look for from a physical point, but he just don't know how to use it. If he played for Ohio St. and had that coaching staff to mold him, I think you're looking at a first round pick. I'll check out Johnstone. Edit: Just watched that tape and I like the game tape. I don't see a LT because his base is narrow and he is a natural leaner....or waist bender. My problem is he'll be 24 at the start of the season and has already torn the acl in the same knee twice.....and for that reason alone I would have him off of my board.

I love the player but that Knee is a huge issue as you said. His age doesn't bother me that much because that means he's more man than boy body wise to me . too bad about that Knee thou because I think you are right about him being off many teams boards.

With all of this discussion of tackle prospects, and especially in what appears to be a down year for tackles -- what about the guys that are currently on our roster. Seemed like the coaching staff was pretty high on Brent Qvale, we also kept Ben Ijalana & Dakota Dozier on the 53 all season. If we don't get someone in the draft at 20 who is ready to step in and play this year, could Qvale or Ijalana step in for Breno so we could save his $3.8MM cap hit? 10 years ago, nobody would have thought Brandon Moore would be a long term answer at guard, but given the chance, he took the job and held it for 9 seasons.
Any thoughts on the young guys currently on our roster?

Any thoughts on the young guys currently on our roster? Tony Pauline reported that the Jets are high on Brent Qvale ... I'm not sure that means they are going to cut Breno and go into next season with Qvale as the starter at right tackle, but it's food for thought.

The bigger question is can Qvale play LT because I want to replace Brick.

I'm beginning to come around on the idea of drafting Jack Conklin at 20 if he's still on the board. I see him in the Jason Fabini mold of LT prospects. I prefer the kind of LT who's excellent in run blocking and solid in pass protection . I thing if you lean on a defensive end for 3 quarters, he's not going to be much of a pass rusher in the 4th .
