The bigger question is can Qvale play LT because I want to replace Brick. It's going to take serious balls by the organization to cut Brick and go into next season with Qvale penciled in as the starting LT. That's the kind of stuff that can make the fan base turn on the front office quickly if it all blows to shit after making a nice run in the first season of a rookie head coach.

This is going to be interesting, because I think Ferguson is going to be asked to take a pay cut, without a restructure and he will balk. Jets can't afford his cap hit and they really can't afford to throw more money into future years on a player whose skills a blind man can see are declining .

It will also tell us if we have the kind of GM who's not afraid to make the hard choices . This is going to be interesting . With the Jets it's always something .

That's the other side of the coin and one that doesn't get viewed often. Free agency and the draft may tell the tale of how hard a stance they take with Brick in negotiations.

With a 14 mil cap hit they would end up saving between 9-10 mil depending on when they cut him. He is not worth anywhere near that and hasn't been for the past couple of years. The truth is he's not very good anymore and I would rank him as a bottom 10 LT in the league right now.......next year he'll be even worse.

There's a couple LTs on the fringe of being released for cap reasons... I noticed E. Monroe's name floated around for example. I'd be OK with cutting Brick in favor of a younger bande-aide while we either develop someone like Beavers/Qvale or until the right guy is available.

When we were doing these last year, did any of us expect to be able to get Brandon Marshall for a fifth rounder?

I don't think Brick gets cut, But I do think Mac will approach him about a paycut.

I would be interested in what an offensive line consisting of these players would create:
LT - Jack Conklin LG - James carpenter OC - Nick Mangold RG - Brian Winters RT - Brent Qvale
It's time to start looking ahead , and quite frankly, it's past time .
