Joe Klecko announces his retirement from the NFL after a 12 year career that included 11 with the Jets. After his final season, his only season in Indianapolis, Joe decided to call it a career.
I really feel great about retiring," Klecko said. "My time has passed, when I came in the league, and even four or five years ago, I remember playing against centers who were 250 or 260 pounds. This year, I played against nine guys that were 290 pounds. It's time for the little guys to move aside."
And with that, one of the Jets all time greats was done with the sport. I do not know of any Jet fans who are old enough to have seen him play, who did not love Klecko. They have to put him in the Hall some day.

It's a shame he isn't in the hall. Wake up stupid NFL selection committee!

kleckp deserves to be in the hall. what's funny is that the really great players don't seem to be the fat hogs we see so many days. imo the rookie klecko could play today, that is if some team wold give him the chance.
