Who would prefer they went after? Presume we're talking about trading all the way up. No pussy 2 spots up stuff here.
(please, no "i would never trade up" comments, or "Depends who's there, that person will never be there"... i'll get pissy if you do)
--Starter for another decade @ LT w/ L. Tunsil? --A WR like Treadwell? --QB for obvious reasons? (wentz, lynch etc) --Defensive blue chipper like M. Jack or J. Bosa?

I like trading up to get your guy. WR or QB. I get the need for o line or a premium pass rusher, I just feel it's been too long since we went big on a WR, and obviously QB is the most important position on the team.
Being a GM is a tough gig, trading up on a miss means you get the short leash, I get the whole best player available at your spot as it's the safe bet. But good things often come to the bold.

Well in THIS draft the only position I would even consider trading up for is QB, but you still have to consider how far you would have to go to get that guy. Would I trade up to #2 for one of these guys? No.

QB only. But I'd hate to give up next year's 1st.

If we are going to trade up this year, I would hope it would be for QB. The upside if you hit on that pick is big enough to justify the risk. I don't see it worth the risk for other positions -- only other one I would consider is pass rusher.

QB and only QB, no one else in this draft is eye popping enough to go after imo.

Carson Wentz would be my target .

QB is the easy answer. How high? Maybe between #5-10 for the right person.
As much as its not a "prudent" decision, I'd probably consider trading up M. Jack. He's the only generational talent in this draft IMO

To be honest I think the Jets are going trade down if anything this year and not go for it until next year. If a Qb starts falling to an affordable area (teens and down) they could trade up. I also view or present GM as the antithesis of Tanny and he will only go up for a super prime player. I don't think we will use the assets to move up that it would cost, unless we can finagle a player in the trade as well as picks.

He's the only generational talent in this draft IMO I had a hard time choosing between Jack and Wentz . I chose Wentz because I think that kid is going to be everything Peyton Manning is with more rings . I hope whatever team drafts him don't screw him up.

QB only and I would be willing to jump ahead of the Rams, who seem like an obvious team to select a QB. If the Jets resign Mo, would you be willing to trade Sheldon just to swap spots in the first round between, say, 13 & 20?

I think you can jump up to 12 and get one of the consensus top 3 QBs so that's where I would go if I had to trade up. I personally like all three of them and would be happy with any of them but I think Lynch is the one that falls that far.

If Carson Wentz is still on the board after San Fran picks at #7, I'd be all in favor of moving up.

Just don't see anyone worth moving up for. Particularly for a 2017 1st round pick.

Man I love Mo, and I think the Jets do as well. But I think Mac would trade him for a 1st rounder. How about to the vaGiants for their 10th pick? they have a ton of cap space, and they get a sure thing in Mo.
10 Treadwell & 20 Elliot
or
10 Wentz & 20 Spence
