Tight End Jeff Cumberland re-signs a 3-year $5.7 million contract. At one time, I thought Cumberland was going to a pretty good receiving threat at tight end. I kept waiting for him to have that breakout season. Eventually I figured out what most everyone on this board knew. The guy is just not very good. 2 years ago today he was re-signed. In his 6 seasons as a Jet, he has 86 receptions for about 1,100 yards, including just 5 catches this past season. Could today be the day he gets released to free up $1.9 million of cap space.
