March 10, 2015In the entire history of the Jets franchise, they had made only two roster moves on March 10. Signing two of their own free agents, offensive tackle Wade Smith in 2007 and LB Nick Bellore in 2014. March 10 had been a very quiet day historically for the Jets, but GM Mike Maccaggnan changed all of that last year as he got busy reshaping the Jets roster. It started with finalizing the Brandon Marshall trade, acquiring Marshall and a 7th round pick from the Bears for a 5th rounder. With the Marshall deal being official, later in the day, Macc released WR Percy Harvin allowing the Jets to keep their 4th round pick. Terms of the Harvin deal with Seattle was a conditional pick -- a 6th rounder unless the Jets re-signed Harvin to an extension. By releasing Harvin the jets kept thier 4th rounder, the pick they used to move up to select Bryce Petty int he upcoming draft. With Marshall on board, Macc now turned his attention to the secondary & OL, inking both Buster Skrine and James Carpenter to 4 year contracts. But big Macc still wan't done. As the evening wore on, rumors spread that the Jets were closing in on a contract with former Jet Darrelle Revis. Late in the evening of the th, Darrelle agreed to return home to NY, signing his 5 year contract with the Jets on March 10 of last year. Revis, Carpenter, Skrine and Marshall. All joined the team on this date last year. Can't wait to see what Macc has in store for today.

Almost missed one more from last season. We also re-signed restricted free agent Bilal Powell to a one year deal. I would love to hear that we re-sign him again today before the day is out.

2 years later and we still have 3 of the 5 guys on our roster. And two of them are actually good. Probably one of Macc's better days as GM, at least until the Revis deal was finalized.

The Revis deal sucks but I can't blame Macc too much. Revis was coming off a season where he re-established himself as arguably the best CB in the game and the Jets had a giant question mark in the secondary all around. The Cromartie deal is what pisses me off, especially since we had already landed Revis and Skrine. Cro had already looked like ass the season before we originally let him go. Then he has a solid year in Arizona and we pay him $8 mill a year to come back and be a walking penalty machine whilst giving 12 yards of cushion on every snap like Revis has been doing since the end of '15.

Rally can't argue with you. At the time, I think most of us were happy with Revis coming back, maybe a little concerned about the $$$, but still happy with the signing. Clearly I am talking with the benefit of hindsight, because nobody could have foreseen has play deteriorating the way it did this past season.
