Right. Holy shit. Fish has become a full blown socialist. Total nuttery up in here. I leave for a couple months. I prefer Collectivist. One should not limit themselves to socialism, the State ownership of the means of production. The State, as an extension of societal will, can and should control so much more. All people working together for the betterment of the collective. That's the goal. And be assured, it IS the future. Those who would work counter to that betterment will have to be re-educated on what it means to be a member of the a society, of a collective. "We are the Borg. Lower your shields and surrender your ships. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile."

The irony is, Star Fleet was a great example of a collectivist socialist society working together for the betterment of all mankind. They certainly were not Republicans, you can be sure of that.
