Just a day after they acquired Tim Tebow, the Jets accommodated back-up QB Drew Stanton's trade request, packaging him to Indianapolis with a 7th round pick in exchange for the Colts 6th round pick. Stanton had been signed by the Jets 6 days earlier to be their #2 QB behind Mark Sanchez. Stanton was happy to be a Jet, being told he would have a chance to play should Sanchez struggle, but that all changed with the acquisition of Tebow.
In a shot at Tebow, a Stanton rep originally tweeted out that the Colts were getting "a leader, winner, and a QB not a gimmick to sell tickets". For his part, Stanton took the high road, thanking the Jets for being a classy organization and accommodating his trade request.
With the 6th round pick acquired in the trade, the Jets selected Wake Forest Safety Josh Bush, and with the Jets 7th round pick, the Colts selected Vanderbilt DE Tim Fugger. If that name sounds familiar, Fugger spent part of the 2013 season with the Jets after being released by Indianapolis.

I like Stanton. He's a quality backup in AZ right now. Was just re-signed.
