4/25/2003Coming into the 2003 NFL draft, which would take place on April 26, the Jets possessed two #1 picks: their own 22nd pick, and the Redskins 13th overall that they received as compensation when the Skins signed Laveranues Coles. The day before the draft, the Jets packaged the 2 picks to Chicago in exchange for the Bears 4th overall. The Jets reportedly had targeted two players at 4, either Andre Johnson, Miami WR or Dewayne Robertson, DT from Kentucky. Unfortunately for the Jets, Johnson went #3 to Houston, leaving the Jets with Robertson. And what became of the two picks that the Jets shipped off to the Bears. They traded 13 on draft day to New England who selected Ty Warren. The Bears moved back one pick and took Michael Haynes. With the 22nd pick, they took QB Rex Grossman. A trade that didn't work out for either team.

Why do I come in to these Jets draft threads? Am I expecting a happy ending (don't go there) or something to be different???
