Happy 48th birthday, Johnny Johnson. Johnson was originally a 7th round pick of the Cardinals as a running back out of San Jose State. He joined the Jets in the draft day trade with the Cardinals in 1993. The Jets traded the 3rd overall pick in the draft to Arizona in exchange for Johnson and the Cards 4th overall pick. The Cards used the #3 to select Johnson's replacement, Georgia RB Garrison Hearst. Meanwhile, the Jets took Marvin Jones at 4. Johnson rushed for over 1,700 yards in two seasons as a Jet. He added another 944 yards on 109 receptions out of the backfield. He became a cap casualty following the 1994 season. He chose to sit out the 95 season, which was probably a better alternative than playing for the 95 Jets and Rich Kotite. Johnson signed with the 49ers prior to the 96 season, but a back injury suffered in training camp with SF effectively ended his career. Johnson finished his career with over 4,000 rushing yards and 1,500 receiving yards in his 5 year NFL career.

Doesn't he hold the record for Jets longest run?
And didn't score...

Doesn't he hold the record for Jets longest run? And didn't score... I was at that game against the Bears. I think it was over 90 yards.

Another kick in the nuts - Google 'longest Jets run' and you get a shitload of other teams longest runs vs jets before you get to JJs run.
