June 17, 1974The Jets re-signed RB Hank Bjorklund. Bjorklund, a Princeton graduate played 3 seasons for the Jets, carrying the ball 60 times for 171 yards between 1972 & 74. He re-signed a one year contract with the team on this date, June 17, 1974. There is only one reason that I remember this guy, and it was not his play on the field. I was at Hofstra one of those summers in the early 70s to watch training camp, and the guy signed an autograph for me after practice. I still have that Hank Bjorklund autograph.

I currently attend high school with Hank’s grandson. He told me his grandfather stopped playing because of incredibly bad CTE, he is now confined to a wheelchair.

He can't be all that old maybe mid-60's. He was by no means a standout, but I remember the guy. The wheelchair thing sucks but it sounds like he has a nice family.
