On this date, June 21, 1994, the Jets signed 7th round draft pick, Glenn Foley, to his rookie contract.
Foley got into one game during his rookie year. He relieved Boomer Esiason in the last game of the 94 season, going 5 for 8 for 45 yards and 1 int in a 24-10 loss to the Houston Oilers. His best moment as a Jet came three years later, in 1997, when he came off the bench to replace an ineffective Neil O'Donnell to lead a 24-19 come from behind victory over the Pats in October. His 5-yard 4th quarter TD pass to Lorenzo Neal gave the Jets the victory. It would be the only 4th quarter comeback of Foley's Jet career.
Foley played well in limited action in 1997, which led to him being named the tea's starter in 1998. He was not quite ready for prime time however, going 0-3 before giving way to Vinny Testaverde who won 12 of his 13 regular season starts.
