July 15, 1982After a 15 year NFL career, all with the Jets, OG Randy Rasmussen decided it was time to move on, announcing his retirement on this date, July 15, 1982. Rasmussen was the last member of the Super Bowl Champion Jets in the NFL. He started 199 games as a Jet and played in 207. The 207 games played for the Jets is second on the Jets all-time list, behind only K Pat Leahy who played in 250. Not bad for a 12th round pick out of Nebraska-Kearney.
