July 21, 1960On this date, in 1960, the NY TItans signed veteran QB Al Dorow. Al had played 4 seasons in th NFL with the Redskins and Eagles when the Titans signed him to their expansion roster. Dorow started 13 of 14 games for the Titans in their inaugural season. He didn't start the first game -- that honor went to Dick Jamieson -- but Dorow did earn the distinction of scoring the first two TDs in franchise history in their opener against Buffalo on a pair of 2nd quarter runs. Dorow would take over the starting job for week 2 and remained the Titans starter for the next two seasons. Picture below is Dorow in a December game against Denver in the inaugural season.
