And it has to be about Blair Fucking Thomas. On this day in Jet history, 8/25/1990, after a 34-day holdout, the Jets signed first round draft pick (and #2 overall selection), Penn State RB Blair Thomas. Blair's biggest problem may have been that he never took geometry at Penn State, he never seemed to learn that the goal of a running back is to run perpendicular to the line of scrimmage, whereas Blair seemed to excel at running parallel to the line. How bad a pick was Thomas? The first RB selected in the draft the year before, Barry Sanders, gained more yardage in the 1997 season (2,053) than Thomas did in his Jet career (2,009). And the 2nd RB taken in 1990, the year Thomas was selected, was Emmitt Smith, who only had 13,000 more yards and 166 more TDs in his career than Thomas.

Well on the flip side, at least we didn't draft Emmitt Smith. Or Seau.

sorry it was for that guy, but thanks SO much for all your threads! Out of 400 I bet 380 have been bad news considering this franchise. Good work tho I always find these interesting if not infuriating! :-)
