Stroke is... just.... I don't even have words. Bailey with the misses on the wide open net.... OMG. Blown 2 goal lead vs. division rival. Seen this a bunch this year, nothing's really changed now. And Johnny, clear the fucking puck in OT, alright? Same old Isles. Blown 2 goal lead. 2 straight blown 3rd period leads. Incompetent in OT. If Tavares and Lee don't score we don't win. Roster has two legit top 6 forwards and a bunch of 3rd and 4th line guys. This is not so much about coaching as it is about roster construction, yet Garth is still here. If anything, I am pissed at myself. After they fired Cappy and won 3 in a row, I started to care again. Not going to fall into that trap again this season. +1. Couldn't say it any better. I do think, believe it or not, Garth is on a very short leash. He's gone at the end of the season. I wouldn't expect any dumbass Garth trades at the deadline, I think it'd have to be approved by Ledecky.

That is what every rational fan wants but for some reason, I'm worried he will be retained.

Post-Capuano bounce, then last night a same old same old performance. Like was said above, we have JT and Lee, and a bunch of bottom six forwards. Next three games are either gonna be great or brutal - CBJ, MTL, WAS.

"We're starting to believe the playoffs might be a reality," defenseman Calvin de Haan said. "Obviously there's a lot of teams we have to jump and we might need some luck from certain teams to beat other teams to give us a chance. But we have to control what we can control, and I think the past month and a-half, two months, we've been playing some really good hockey."
Clearly we have two different ideas of what exactly good is.

Besides the first 6 minutes and the last 6 minutes, they actually played a solid game vs one of the leagues best teams. I tuned in to see how they'd handle a top team, and Actually impressed.
Big 2 points, and jersey was losing, along with buffalo, and Tampa, was tied with Chicago.

Big 2 points, and jersey was losing, along with buffalo, and Tampa, was tied with Chicago. I just watched the 3rd period. Seems to me they are much more aggressive on the forecheck since Cappy is gone (or maybe I just want to see that). What I liked about this 3rd period (unlike the last 2) is they kept attacking. The best way to protect a 1 goal lead is to make it a 2 or 3 goal lead, which they did last night, so the late goal didn't hurt them. Just 4 back of Toronto for the WC.

Another game tonight I'm actually interested in watching to see how they play. New coach smell should be wearing off soon. Do they compete tonight or fold?

I believe you said they would get a 5-game stretch where they play well for Weight and then its back to business as usual, so they should be good for tonight. Typical Islanders luck, playing some pretty good hockey, just in time for the All Star Break to kill any momentum they may have.
