they're going to build a new arena at belmont
james dolan is actually an investor in one of the firms that's going in with the islanders owners and the wilpons, they're in talks and agreement...dolan being able to wet his beak means that possible roadblock is not an issue
they can get it done because the land they're talking about building on is owned by nyra

Wow, those last 4 minutes were butt ugly, but still, 2 more points on the road. Needed these points with the matchup tomorrow night against the Blackhawks.

Missed the third period. Only the second time all season the Isles have won a game after trailing going in to the third..
Who starts in net tonight?

Missed the third period. Only the second time all season the Isles have won a game after trailing going in to the third.. Who starts in net tonight? They played a great 3rd, for about 16 minutes. They dominated play, picked up the 3 goals -- caught a break with some questionable play from Niemi in the Stars net on 2 of the goals. Then they got a power play with about 4 minutes left and it looked like the assumed it was over. Stopped skating, got sloppy and back on their heels, got beat up ice a few times on the power play, gave up the shortie. I think it was Lee how missed an empty net in the last minute. They managed to survive is about all you could say after those last few minutes. I am guessing Berube will be in net tonight. This is the only back to back on the road trip, so I guess this will be his only start of the trip. Need those 2 points last night because it will be awfully tough to even salvage a point tonight the way the Hawks have been playing the last month or so. |

I decided to save myself the $200+ that I would have to pluck down for a decent seat at the UC and catch it at home. I have about a 7 or 8 game losing streak for games I have seen live over the last few year. If I was going, it would be a loss for sure. |

^^ no idea what that recall means. Originally Ho-Sang was called up as an emergency injury replacement, which I think allowed us an extra roster spot. His status was changed to a standard roster spot (although I don't know whose spot he is taking). At least that is my understanding -- although I am not all that familiar with all of the NHL's roster designations. |

Came into the night hoping we could salvage a point, but damn, after holding the lead late, losing that 2nd point hurts. I guess you can't expect to hold on for dear life in the closing minutes two nights in a row.
