Just look at the cowboys. Great O line, rookie QB doing fine.
It all starts with the O line. Jets been neglecting it for years.

David Johnson is also one of, if not the best, rb in the league. But yeah you can see most of the guys not giving it there all on defense. Can't blame them. Oh, you CAN blame them. "Proper motivation" is not a stipulation of the multi-million dollar contracts that some of these guys sign. Do your job. But in the end there are only two choices: get rid of the players or get rid of the coaches. And since we've all seen these same players perform better in the past...

And since we've all seen these same players perform better in the past... the jets are the jets problem regardless if the back is the second coming of jim brown or not. looking at two td runs, it's plenty apparent that there were missed tackles, players out of position, and players being blocked out of the way. on offense the same things are seen where players aren't blocking properly or missing assignements etc. forte isn't producing largely because the oline just isn't opening holes and blocking out to the second level. is it talent? to an extent but mainly it's because of coaching and for whatever reason the jets players aren't being put in the right position or being used incorrectly. bowles? he wouldn't be the first really good coordinator who failed as a head coach. it's really too early to tell with him though. he's worked under some pretty darn good coaches in parcells and arians and he should get better. maybe he needs to let go of the defense and let his dc deal with it.

I want to agree with you on Bowles. Continuity is important, and it's better for everyone if a change is ultimately not required. But when you look at the performance, it's hard not to put it on the team. Very little team hustle, which typically goes to coaching. Bowles is a former DC, who played DB in the pros. The secondary is absolutely atrocious this year, despite basically being the same unit that did a solid job the year before. No significant adjustments on either side of the ball that have made a difference. WTF is he doing with Sheldon Richardson? I guess he's trying to outdo what Rex did to Coples. Two 4th down punts against the Steelers in the 4th...no guts. Loyalty to Fitz (I can almost give him a pass on this one, thanks to Geno's ineptitude). Incredibly poor 2nd-half performances...seems he cannot inspire this team at halftime. All within 6 games. Bowles has changed the question from "why would we fire him?" to "why would we keep him?" And that's his fault.
