Seems like Bowles has backtracked a bit off his comments about Fitz as starter.
From the article:
"First of all, after the game, it's always going to be status quo," Bowles said. "I'm never going to tell the media anything before I meet with my coaches and my GM and the rest of the staff. So everything is status quo until we have our meeting on Monday evening [following Sunday games].
"But [Smith] did show some promise when he was in there. He understood the game plan. He did good for the drive he was in there."
Bowles made those comments after studying the film of Monday's game, which allowed him to take a closer look at Fitzpatrick and Smith.

Better late than never. The only thing worse than a mistake is compounding it by refusing to recognize it.
Bowles has a much better chance of saving his job by winning a few games with one of the backups (especially if Petty plays and shows promise) than he does riding it out with Fitz and hoping for 6 wins.

I heard he'd tell the team first who's starting, and that's Wednesday morning. We might hear something today then.

I'm all in favor of Fitz as a starter..
Perhaps a soup.
Followed by a nice steak and salad.
Pie and coffee after.

I just hope this means that Fitz is officially done. And they don't go back to him rest of the season.

This is just a mess, what's the plan if he plays well? this team needs to start planning who their QB in 17 is gonna be and that's petty or Hack, not Geno.

This was so predictable. As predicted: makes the change when the season is over. Geno should have started 2 weeks ago. Now Petty should be. FML.
I bet he got a call from the top that said bench that Irish prick.
