I picked up on this the minute Woody commented during this morning's press conference and posted my comments on the matter. Just stupid. He never should have said what he said. He should know better as an NFL owner for more than a dozen years. Hope the League looks the other way as they often do with the cheating scumbags up in NE. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/29/woody-johnson-tampers-with-darrelle-revis/

There was absolutely nothing intentional about that and that had better be the fucking end of it.

With Rex gone the chances of Revis coming back went from 1% to 0%.
And now Woody will cost himself a draft pick that Revis got him. lol

Didn't this happen last year too, with another player? Jackson from the Iggles, I think?
Nothing came of it then. The NFL let Woody off because, basically, they know he is just a rich idiot who doesn't understand the rules of the club he is in.

Everyone knows it. The Tuna and Compiler are the most obvious examples. Maybe this time the league will actually grow a pair and enforce the rules.

Just can't see the league taking action over what he said since he was talking in hindsight about what he would've done differently but the league has pretty strict tampering rules. Still, I can't see any disciplinary action coming down from Goodell.

All he did was compliment Revis as a player but said the reason why they passed was because of his agents... How is that tampering? If he went on about how he intends to make a push for him in the offseason or already reached out to him then you have a point but that's not the case.

Still, I can't see any disciplinary action coming down from Goodell. Actually, he wasn't talking hindsight on the last sentence. "Darrelle is a great player," Johnson said. "If I thought I could've gotten Darrelle for that, I probably would've taken him. It was our best judgment to do what we did. Darrelle is a great player. I'd love Darrelle to come back."

Still, I can't see any disciplinary action coming down from Goodell. If Woody was sincere and Revis looks to be reunited with the NYJ, you can bet the two dickheaded cheats, Kraft and Belicheat, will try and extract a draft pick knowing they will not/cannot bring Revis back at $20 million for next year. Woody just handed them a gift. I hate to say it but it was obvious the minute he made his comments. He was clear: "I would love to have Revis back," or something along those lines.

Openly (or even privately) declaring any interest in a player under contract with another team is tampering. There's no gray area. Woody cannot declare he'd love to have Revis back. That's the definition of tampering. Just because he's clueless and ignorant is no excuse.

Yup I read it cumbox but, this is just me, I think talking in hindsight about why a deal wasn't worked out is different than saying "yeah I want him back just wait until FA starts". Did you listen to Woody speak or read the quotes or did you immediately get your thong twisted up?

I hate cheaters.
