Frankly I dont give a shit anymore about that type of stuff. Seems like they all fuck their interns. If we started disqualifying for that there wouldn't be anyone left. We aren't electing our daughter's husband or the pope. We need people that can get things done and get this country back on track. And I think, with the right people around him (minus Pence), Trump can get it done. He has my total support. Didn't vote for him (or Hillary), but I want him to succeed. What's wrong with pence? He seems like a good guy and he helped bring a sense of stability, maturity, honesty, humility and seriousness to his campaign. He helped trump win. I like him. As do millions of Americans.

Pence and his "Godly living" edicts are causing problems for the local health orgs across Indiana. Google HIV rates + Mike Pence.

Some might say allowing those junkies to die is a kindness.
I hear human euthanasia got passed in some states. We may be on the right track.

Pence wants to send gay people to conversion camp and he's ridiculously Christian. Not my cup of tea. He's also let the biggest HIV outbreak in US history happen on his watch (in Indiana). Fully preventable, too.

I don't need elected asshats to tell me what to put in my body. If I want to smoke a joint or jab a vein, I should be able to without fear of jail.

If I want to smoke a joint or jab a vein, I should be able to without fear of jail. So let me see if I got this one straight. You dont need elected officials to tell you what to put in your body but you want those same elected officials to force others to pay for keeping your habits as "clean" as they can. That right there is a microcosm of why the Libertarian movement has gone nowhere. For the record I support the free needles. But I can understand why some people dont want to provide them.

Take the money it costs to keep a non-violent offender in prison and use it for clinics that provide free rehab and needles.

Because thats all thats left to do for these people. Maybe a nice bed for them to tweak out on. Personally, I dont want them in jail either. Especially if they are only hurting themselves. But I also think rehab is a joke for heroin. And I dont want to publicly fund that either. I only know one person who ever got off heroin and he didnt go to rehab. He was basically held prisoner in his house for about a year. I know three that have died and they all went to rehab. And thats because they had access to the drugs. Give a junkie an opportunity to use and they will use. Only real way to get people off these hard drugs is to prevent them from getting them. Stopping it right at the border and the ports. And that is a pipe dream too.

And that is a pipe dream too. There definitely is no easy answer. I agree with releasing all nonviolent offenders. It is just a waste of money. On the surface I agree with legalizing everything because like Things says it should be their choice of what to put in their bodies. That being said there is the point DD makes of why should we pay for that. I think it has to be the better of 2 evils and we will never know that without trying something different because EVERY choice has unintended consequences. The 2nd point could also be the slippery slope to soda taxes among other things because why should we pay for diabetics and fatties. No easy answers.

Thomas Jefferson carried around a bible with all of the mysticism and miracles removed. He liked Jesus's teachings and messages, but didn't believe in any of the other stuff. Look into the Treaty of Tripoli from 1797.
