Pence wants to send gay people to conversion camp and he's ridiculously Christian. Not my cup of tea. He's also let the biggest HIV outbreak in US history happen on his watch (in Indiana). Fully preventable, too. Never heard about his being into gay conversion therapy, but to call him ridiculously Christian? The country is Christian. The dems are about to elect a muslim as the leader of the DNC. Just sayin'. The gay conversion therapy stuff is a little out there. I agree to a point, in that 80+% of the country identifies as Christian or something like that, but at the same time, our founding fathers emphasized separation of church and state for a reason, and I think what JT is calling ridiculously Christian is around imposing ones beliefs on others in an over the top way politically and through legislation.

Fully preventable, too. Do you believe we are morally obligated to provide addicts with needles? Morally no. From a practical standpoint, maybe. I see the pros and cons. Heroin addiction is a shit show. I dont know anyone personally but know many people whose friends and families have been impacted. The rate of backsliding and using again after rehab must be ridiculously high, as Ive heard of virtually no one who has kicked it. There's no easy answer. Do we decriminalize marijuana and free folks in prison, and use those funds to pay for needles to at least stop the spread of other diseases? Maybe. At least to limit the collateral damage.

Are we also going to supply product at these clinics? Because thats all thats left to do for these people. Maybe a nice bed for them to tweak out on. Personally, I dont want them in jail either. Especially if they are only hurting themselves. But I also think rehab is a joke for heroin. And I dont want to publicly fund that either. I only know one person who ever got off heroin and he didnt go to rehab. He was basically held prisoner in his house for about a year. I know three that have died and they all went to rehab. And thats because they had access to the drugs. Give a junkie an opportunity to use and they will use. Only real way to get people off these hard drugs is to prevent them from getting them. Stopping it right at the border and the ports. And that is a pipe dream too. There definitely is no easy answer. I agree with releasing all nonviolent offenders. It is just a waste of money. On the surface I agree with legalizing everything because like Things says it should be their choice of what to put in their bodies. That being said there is the point DD makes of why should we pay for that. I think it has to be the better of 2 evils and we will never know that without trying something different because EVERY choice has unintended consequences. The 2nd point could also be the slippery slope to soda taxes among other things because why should we pay for diabetics and fatties. No easy answers. And chips, and ice cream. And beer and other alcohol, cause why should I pay for someones liver transplant? Very slippery slope.

Again what the founding fathers emphasized was freedom of religion not freedom from religion. They did not want a state religion The king of England was also the nominal head of the C of E.

Add in the Hippocratic Oath...a truckfull of needles is nine bucks; it's elementary. Naivete and knee-jerk righteous anger will get you nowhere in life, son

What's wrong with pence? He seems like a good guy and he helped bring a sense of stability, maturity, honesty, humility and seriousness to his campaign. He helped trump win. I like him. As do millions of Americans. Pence wants to send gay people to conversion camp and he's ridiculously Christian. Not my cup of tea. He's also let the biggest HIV outbreak in US history happen on his watch (in Indiana). Fully preventable, too. Also the ABSOLUTE WORST STATE re cannabis or anything in general. They are against personal liberties especially if Big Pharma says no bueno. Terrible police state. Which has always been my biggest worry about Trump. But also Hitlery. Can't fucking win. Just let ppl fuckin live and let live. Fuck.

You think rehab is a joke?! WTF?? Because you don;t know of personal antidotes? I know a LOT of ppl who were saved by rehab. People who got hooked by the big pharma Rx industry you love so much after being injured and unable to move... Well guess what? There is a plant called Kratom that has helped countless people kick heroin and other Rx pill form heroin. It works. And your precious DEA wants to ban it because shooting fish in a barrel and easy targets are their bread and butter. Are you against Kratom??? The DEA is.. Big Pharma is... And Big Pharma just patented the alkaloids in Kratom because it works the same opioid receptors in the brain that their legal heroin does... but without the added shit and highly addictive properties and minus the breath suppression. Can't be having natural herbs heal people of countless ailments.. That's like a handout!!!

HuffPost. whateva
[W]ith Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana, an evangelical with a record of legislating against abortion and same-sex marriage, as vice president, Christian leaders say they feel reassured they will have access to the White House and a seat at the table. “I am confident he will do as president what he said he would do as a candidate,” said Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, who helped mobilize Christian voters for Mr. Trump.

My biggest fear was that scumbag Christie. Admit I know very little about Pence but he comes from a TERRIBLE state of affairs, against civil liberties and was pushed onto an unsuspecting Trump and that worries me just a little.

And I am not anti-rehab, I just dont want to pay for your rehab. And believe me I know there are plenty of prescription drugs that are worse than stuff that grows from the dirt. I am pro-medical marijuana. I would rather see more data before we started legalizing it everywhere for recreation but that data will come now anyway.
