You and I might not rely on PO but there still millions that do especially in rural areas. Ain't no one gonna be competitive to pick up and mail a letter from Podunck, Montana. IF there is a real need then someone will come up with an alternative and it will be priced accordingly. It is ridiculous to just say this is the only way it has been so it has to remain that way. I throw out 90% of what I get in the mail. We are subsidizing garbage to be sent to us that we don't want that is also wasting resources. Sin taxes have been created to try to control people's behavior on one side while on the other side we support old technology with tax money to what, keep people from adopting cleaner solutions?!?! How does that make any sense? No one like the junk mail but its a HUGE business. You would wipe out a ton of business and jobs without it. The direct mail industry = 8.4 million jobs (6% of U.S. jobs) and $1.3 trillion in sales revenue (8.6% of U.S. GDP). We cant just wipe out things because they are inefficient without big consequences

Add in that junk mail is subsidized and it makes you realize what a waste it really is. Jobs for junk mail are important but killing the coal industry is fine. Got it. www.huffingtonpost.com/todd-paglia/subsidizing-junk-mail-in_b_442132.html

Definitely Apples to Apples.

Except fossil fuels aren't outdated no matter how much liberals and environmentalists would like to think they are. They are still cheaper than "renewable" energy sources and are necessary for the vast majority of motors in vehicles, electric generation plants and other motors in use today. They are also cleaner than a lot of "renewable" sources when you consider the impact to the environment when getting the elements that are required to make batteries and disposing of the old ones, bird kills from windmills, land use for solar, etc.

Yes I said we still need it. Like mail. See?
