Interesting pick. I think most people assumed he would have been looked at for HHS but I think he turned that down and wanted something bigger.
Of course the networks are already showing some negatives statements Trump made about Carson during the campaign rather than talking about what he could bring to such a position.
Sucks to be a minority on the wrong side of the aisle.
Since they like to keep score it should be mentioned he now has multiple women, an African American, a native American and an Asian in his cabinet. And has been looking across the aisle for some positions as well as picking the brains of his fiercest rivals. Not bad for a knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing buffoon.

Actually that is not a FACT. Like this? And Carson turned down HHS because as a surgeon he felt unqualified, NOT because he wanted something bigger. www.redstate.com/kiradavis/2016/11/15/breaking-ben-carson-turns-position-trump-cabinet/HHS is a real job with responsibility not a dumping ground that HUD is, to make it seem like you're giving a minority a real job, which he is qualified for because he is black. THAT is racist Yes he can bring his experience of living in public housing to this position (like millions) of other people, but he can't bring his actual medical experience to HHS. Nobody gives a FLYING FUCK about HUD especially republicans and I wouldn't be surprised if they destroy it in 4 years TOKEN “Dr. Carson feels he has no government experience, he’s never run a federal agency. The last thing he would want to do was take a position that could cripple the presidency.” Cripplin time When asked if he knows anything about housing policy, Carson told Neil Cavuto: “I know that I grew up in the inner city

So giving him the HUD job is racist bc its a "dumping ground" even though he didnt want the HHS job. I guess that is one of those things you need 4 humanities degrees to understand. And those aren't Dr. Carson's words. Those are someone elses. I think it was obvious Carson wanted a role but was playing hard to get and using his leverage. Im not sure how HHS is a real job but HUD isnt. These same people always cry about how the inner cities are left behind and education/infrastructure and housing are awful. Wouldn't that make HUD very important and a place where someone could make a real impact? And we are acting as if HUD has actually had success in our cities and Carson is a threat to that. They have done nothing. Our cities have become more gentrified if anything. The poor are getting squeezed as hard as every before. "What do they have to lose"? Besides a man that looks like them possibly helping them and exposing a liberal myth.

Select a black guy and you are a racist panderer, select a white guy and you are a racist anyway. Trump needs to continue to do things his way. He was elected because we wanted a business man that knew the old ways weren't working and we wanted something new. For that matter I always heard everyone say that Trump needed to do this or that and if he didn't do it their way he would lose. He did it his way and shocked the world. Why would he start listening to the media "experts" now?

Just knowing what I do about autism overall, let alone specifically with regards to policy and how money is used at NIH, NIMH, IACC and the CDC, I find that generalization comically uninformed. Sound bites only get you so far in an argument.

that's actually a perfect example, while fictional, represents the reality of the disrespect and disdain with which HUD is viewed You're really good at jumping around topics that seem to challenge your belief system, skipping right over my comment regarding your (incorrect) view that HHS is a real responsibility. Responsibility connotes power, which doesn't really exist in that bottomless pit of corruption and profligacy. No matter, I'll counter your latest assertion by saying HUD certainly seemed to help out Cuomo's profile, amid scandal no less. What say you (you're gonna go with because he's 'white', amirite)?
