Some observations on the Olineman is overall as a group they were not very good. Only guys that really stood out to me was Lamp and Orlosky the center from WV. Garcia was up and down but you can see it's there, Davenport needs a ton of work.....looks like he's never seen a weight room. Banner is fucking huge and today I learned he's Lincoln Kennnedy's kid.....I keep waffling on this kid. Watch his tape and he sucks with Herman Munster feet but I always wonder what he would look like playing around 325-330 and a NFL training program under his belt.
Anyone else want to weigh in on some of the other positions. I'd also love to draft Sprinkle from Arkansas, he looks so natural at the position and is well rounded with great size and hands...maybe third round.

Only guys that really stood out to me was Lamp and Orlosky the center from WV I haven't gotten to watch today's practice yet, but I'm glad to hear they're doing well. They're two of my favorite OL prospects. I honestly thought Orlosky would be a little smaller. He's a bulldog and has a non stop motor. I also heard Lamp struggled outside, but locked down the inside. I think he should start at OG and could possibly develop into a LT once he gets stronger.

I also heard Lamp struggled outside, but locked down the inside. Lamp got beat badly on one play, other than that he was stellar and played both in and out. After seeing his measurables he's a guard through and through that could probably play Tackle in a pinch. I just want someone I don't know to step up and shine....it happens every year but I didn't see it today. It was such a sloppy day and that QB from Tiffin couldn't even get the plays called right, it was embarrassing. Out of the huddle up to the line, back to the huddle, out of the huddle up to the line, back to the huddle.

I was hoping he'd step up as a 3rd round OT possibility.

He was totally exposed and is yet another guard convert. That's what I was afraid of with his tape. He'd have moments where he looked like a beast, but then would follow it with a bunch of sloppy plays. It's almost as if nobody ever taught him the position and just gave him a helmet. From what you said and what I've heard he's probably a 5th to UDFA.

So, trying to get a look at Garcia last nightm and the guy who jumped out at me was Daeshon Hall, the edge rusher from A&M. Didn't look like any of these tackles, including Garcia, could handle him. Possible day 2 pick.

Im disappointed so far with Garcia and Lamp. Lamp looks now to be more of a guard in the NFL, and Garcia will be a project type guy, who might settle in as a quality backup. davenport looks like tarzan, but plays like jane alot of the time. A huge project. Best thing now would be to sign a stop gap like Whitworth{as untouchable has said}, and look again in 2018. But who knows. lets see what shakes out.

The problem I have with Whitworth is that I don't see any way a 35 year old LT,who has never won a playoff game, would agree to sign with a rebuilding Jets team -- as long as he has options. And he is likely to have options -- the Bengals may want him back and contenders like the Seahawks, Broncos or Giants could use an upgrade at LT. I would be shocked if he was on our roster next year, just don't see it happening. Unfortunately, it is not a good year to need a LT. As you said, does not look like there is a legit day 1 starter at the position in the draft, and the free agent class is weak. Maybe we look at guys like Riley Reiff or Matt Kalil, but there is likely to be a lot of competition for LT in free agency. Will be interesting to see what Macc does to address the position, because I would hate to start the season with Ijalana as our best option (if we re-sign him).

Well, thats a good point about Whitworth. Looks like were gonna have to grin and bear it at LT, this year. Maybe Kalil can resurrect his career here. been a bust, so far.

I think you're overreacting when it comes to Garcia calling him a back-up. He'll be a starting LT in the league and Lamp for the most part was always considered more of a guard conversion.

I said at the end, who knows. Might turn out good in the end. there was some talk about Garcia jumping into the first round. now maybe we can grab him in the second, if we like his private workouts.
