They can argue murder however they want in court. How many of them got away with murder in this country because their defense was that it was an honor killing? This 2010 Law Journal article is a good read on the subject HONOR KILLINGS AND THE CULTURAL DEFENSE by JOHN ALAN COHAN scholarlycommons.law.cwsl.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1086&context=cwiljHere is a nice explanation of the "cultural defense" from the article. The final paragraph is music to the ears of a globalist progressive.

So according to sections you outlines, they can use their cultural norms as a part of their defense according to the part you outlined. I'll be honest - I'm not reading that whole journal article. Honor killings just isn't interesting enough to me to read all of that. But has there ever been a case in this country where someone got off of murder charge because their defense was that it was an honor killing?

Translation: I don't care about this topic enough to investigate it further and formulate an opinion, thereby potentially being a part of the solution in preventing another ridiculous legal precedent that could impact thousands. Unless, of course, precedence has already been set, in which case I may or may not offer up some moral outrage. Possibly. At least you're honest about it.

I can't be an expert on every subject and I won't pretend to be. Luckily, I don't make the laws and won't be representing anyone on either side of this law, so I don't need to be too up to date on barbaric nonsense like killing your family in the name of honor. I'll even go out on a limb here and say it's pretty safe to assume honor killing is and always will be illegal in this country.

Agreed. But the funny thing about criminals is they dont care about the law. Legality isn't the issue. Their belief system will not change just bc their address changes. Assuming they will just assimilate to our culture is just as ignorant as when we assumed "democracy" would survive when we pulled out. Yes, I am using democracy very loosely. Frankly, I dont want us to import anything from that hell hole. And I acknowledge that we have thoroughly made things worse in that region over the past 15 years but I dont think we need to compound that by giving in to our guilt.

I just meant in terms of being accepted her by American culture. I was just responding to Trades when he mentioned that we're forced to accept "honor killing and clitorectomies, cock fighting, gang membership, etc...". We're not forced to accept those things in this country. They're all illegal and you go to jail if you get caught doing them (except for possibly a clitorectomy). I still have to google what that is. Now people are always going to break the law and when they do, they hopefully get caught and have to face the consequences. But it never has to be accepted in this country as normal when they're illegal.

The US took out a dangerous bad actor of a nation Iraq and got as a bonus Libya to turn over its Nuclear assets. It's only when 0 exited Iraq and he, Madame Bobblehead the UK and France along with their MB goon pals decided to enable regime change in Tunisia, Libya and elsewhere did things get exponentially worse...add the dopey Iran deal and importing thousands of jihad-loving freaks as a cherry bomb on top

But going in was still a mistake. We were better off with Saddam. And we are better of with Assad. Unless we are willing to babysit the region till the end of time which we dont have the stomach for politically or the purse for either. $6 trillion spent in that hell hole for nothing. Imagine what we could have done here with that money.

Sorry "we" were not "better off" with Saddam as he was, we wasted time and money booting him from Kuwait and his persistence in supporting terrorism was vexing. His 1993 attempt to damage\destroy the WTC one example. "We" are not "better off" with Assad either, even if he is "better" than ISIS. He ravaged Lebanon aiding and abetting his ally Iran's imported band of Hezbollah savages. Etc.

Unless we are willing to fill the vacuum ourselves it will be filled with ISIS or something worse. Im over trying to spread democracy. Some places just cant handle it. We can barely handle it.

I told my daughter last night this right here proves this whole Trans thing is bullshit. No boy would wrestle a girl or wrestle on the girls team. She agreed.
