I think that no matter which way you are transitioning you should have to compete in the male events. Going from woman to man you are receiving testosterone and going to from man to woman you still have years of the effects of testosterone in your body regardless of your current levels. There is probably a point in time where it has been reversed but until we know there is no way to level the playing field.

If your daughter is dating "him" does your daughter deserve to know that her boyfriend is transgender? I would presume the answer is yes, and the reason it is yes is because she is not a boy. She is a girl pretending to be a boy. I have no problem with her pretending to be a boy. Just don't force me to accept an alternative reality where this girl is a boy. And for the record, I do not care what bathroom she uses. I am thoroughly confused as to when we started having bathroom cops. You can use whatever the fuck bathroom you want. I personally have seen men use the ladies room and woman use the men's room when that was the only choice. No one ever complained. While I think states should get to decide the issues of bathroom use, I think that any politician who votes in favor of a bathroom law that precludes a guy pretending to be a woman from using the ladies room is a jerk who should be spending their legislative time and effort on far more important issues. |

I'm with you on pretty much everything you wrote. Agree also that this bathroom cop foolishness seems a ridiculous waste of time and money. If on an individual basis somebody needs to use a bathroom they should just use it. A couple thoughts though...If you actually change the general rules so that in all cases men can use ladies rooms and ladies can use men's I think it's the women who will object the most. I'm talking about large, public rest rooms like you have in rest stops, malls, theaters, gyms, etc. I could be wrong but I dont think so--when women talk about wanting to share spaces they mean they want access to male areas, not vice versa. To that point, wasn't it mostly liberal women who fought in court to allow single sex health clubs because sharing a gym with men was icky? |
