Two very different games based on those two tapes. LSU tape he was dreadful and the UT tape he was better.
Pros: He sheds blocks well Plays slippery at the line of scrimmage
Cons: He looks slow What you do see of him in coverage is mostly bad.....getting turned around, turning the wrong way, slow to cover his man Bad closing speed....did I already say slow LSU game he missed at least 5 tackles Likes to tackle with his shoulder
Overall he is so overrated that my head would would explode if we took him at 6.

You do realize, you just sealed the deal. Foster to the Jets at 6. You know its gonna happen now.

* Decent size
* Not a particularly impressive looking athlete on tape
* Moving forward, he is a good player, but you don't really see him making plays on the perimeter of the field or in pass coverage
* Against the run, he does a good job of sifting through traffic and getting to the line of scrimmage
* He is not a sideline to sideline MLB, looks like more of an ILB in a 3-4 or a SLB in a 4-3
* Generally a good tackler, but you do see a couple of missed tackles on the tape
* He's a good pass rusher
* It's always hard to evaluate pass coverage without the all 22 film, but you see some instances where his guy gets open on tape
* Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is about Foster. Is he really that much better than Ragland, who went in the second round last year?
* Hard pass on this guy at number 6 overall. Good player, but I can get guys that will do the same thing further down in the draft.

I think you guys are being a little hard on him... he's pretty much on par with all the Saban-era LBs. Reasonably good instincts, stout at point of the attack, short on athleticism, long on tackling.
You do need 1 of these types on your team. We don't but there's someone out there who could use him like CLE in the 2nd.

Agree that he does not look like a top 10 guy in the LSU tape, but take a look at the Florida tape -- much better. Better angles, doesn't miss tackles, multiple plays behind the line of scrimmage and showed some pretty good speed to the sideline on a couple of pass plays. Not suggesting we should take him at 6, but I can see what people like in him.

Lets be honest, Forster jersey was in every camera shot in every bama game. If he wasn't making a play he was around the play. 2nd rounder for me, but not a target for the Jets.

Saying I don't want a guy at 6 doesn't mean he isn't a good player. Foster is good, I just don't see him as the next Patrick Willis.

All I can say is if the NY Jets take ILB's at 20 and then at 6 in back to back drafts we are for sure super bowl bound because every one knows the key building block position of any nfl team is ILB.

Maybe that's why he was so agitated at the combine and got kicked out. Even before this I had him ranked as the 3rd best ILB behind Reddick and Davis.
