Well release times are measured in fraction of seconds. The fastest are around .26 to .30 of a second. Jameis is around .32 to .34 at least that's what scouts who have timed him so far have reported. By comparison Leftwich had .50 release time. Kaepernick is in the low 40s as well. I'm not sure where you found those stats but that is interesting. Just going by my eye test, I don't see it. Kap was another prolific baseball pitcher who has a slower release that is hindering his game, as evidenced by your stats. Got any links on Winstons release time? I'll try to find them again. Trent Dilfer does a lot of study into this stuff. The stuff he does with his Nike Elite 11 QB competition is great. He did some great stuff with release times and snap to release times. Where the best QBs get the snap, make their read and release the ball in 1.7 to 2.2 seconds.

Winston was even one of the competitors in 2011. It's a great watch.

I'm game for participation......4PM on espn2 for anyone interested.

Well the 2011 Elite 11 show was obviously when he was out of HS and prior to his red shirt year. The other times were done while at FSU. Love the UA H.S. Stuff. We watched the practice shows the last two nights. I love that stuff.
