A couple of folks have posted some links in the Connor Cook thread on the Runway. Thanks Lith, I am seeing a drop to six ! Definitely a possibility -- I am just not sure if that would be a good or bad thing.

Thanks Lith, I am seeing a drop to six ! Definitely a possibility -- I am just not sure if that would be a good or bad thing. Me too ! Although I am thinking 'though he's worth the shot rather than draft another Calvin Prior !

My opinion on Jameis hasn't really changed based upon tonight's game. If he is on the board at 6, I would be willing to roll the dice. If he gets his head together and grows up, we could have a franchise QB for the next 10 years. Too much upside for a franchise as desperate for a QB as we are to pass on him.

I'm concerned more about Winstons slow wind-up delivery than his past transgressions. I wonder if his baseball career is affecting his overall delivery?

Hopefully at #6 we get a player better than Calvin Pryor, even if it's not one of the QB's. It's almost impossible to do worse.

His release times are faster than what a lot of people think. IMO his follow through makes it look like he has a longer delivery, but he gets rid of the ball more than quick enough.

He has a bit of a baseball wind-up IMO. Fractions of a second matter when you are in the NFL.

Fractions of a second matter when you are in the NFL. Well release times are measured in fraction of seconds. The fastest are around .26 to .30 of a second. Jameis is around .32 to .34 at least that's what scouts who have timed him so far have reported. By comparison Leftwich had .60 release time. Kaepernick is in the low 40s as well.

I'm not sure where you found those stats but that is interesting. Just going by my eye test, I don't see it. Kap was another prolific baseball pitcher who has a slower release that is hindering his game, as evidenced by your stats. Got any links on Winstons release time?
