What worries me about both Cook and Fournette is that they both put the ball on the ground too much. CBS Sports.com had the following RB fumble stats (# touches per fumble) for the draft class: Below Average (75-99)
99.7: James Conner, Pittsburgh 96.6: Tarik Cohen, North Carolina A&T 86.4: Corey Clement, Wisconsin 82.1: Leonard Fournette, LSU
81.0: Aaron Jones, UTEP 79.0: T.J. Logan, North Carolina 78.5: Elijah Hood, North Carolina Red Flag (Worse than 75)74.9: Jeremy McNichols, Boise State 74.3: D'Onta Foreman, Texas 73.0: Joe Mixon, Oklahoma 71.0: Alvin Kamara, Tennessee 69.8: Curtis Samuel, Ohio State 65.4: Taquan Mizzell, Virginia 63.8: Dalvin Cook, Florida State
57.7: Boom Williams, Kentucky 56.3: Justin Davis, USC 54.3: Marlon Mack, South Florida 52.2: Marcus Cox, Appalachian State 51.1: DeAngelo Henderson, Coastal Carolina I don't care how dynamic a runner they might be, if they put the ball on the ground, I don't want either guy on my team. It's a little worrisome, but there have been a bunch of RBs that had fumbling issues in college and fixed it. I mean Tiki Barber's middle name was fumble and after Coughlin yelled at him it went away. I'm more worried when a QB fumbles a lot. We're never able to fix them. That's probably the only positive about Hack. For how many times he got sacked he rarely fumbled the ball. I always looked at Tiki as the exception. A lot of guys who have had trouble with ball security in college also do in the pros: Ammer Abdullah, Melvin Gordon, Tevin Coleman, even David Johnson are all guys who have had ball security issues in the NFL after having high fumble rates in college. It scares me, and is enough of a red fag that I am not sure I would take either guy at 6. I would sign up for your 4 round draft posted just above.

I also want no par of Bolles. Garcia looks good, but was a little up and down in the drills. I'm hoping he lasts till our 2nd pick. I know everyone wants Fournette or Cook, but I wouldn't mind taking Davis/Williams are 6. Then grab Garcia in the 2nd, Jamaal Williams in the 3rd, and the best available CBs with our comp pick and 4th round pick. 1) Corey Davis / Mike Williams 2) Antonio Garcia 3) Jamaal Williams 3) Marquez White 4) Damontae Kazee Garcia in the second and Moton in the third. Moton is really growing on me as a legit tackle prospect not unlike Donovan Smith who rose throughout the process. The reason why we have shitty tackles is because we never draft them.....we always draft guards throughout the draft but never address the more important position. The last guy we drafted in any round that was considered a tackle prospect was Vlad Ducasse. I have to watch more on him, but I'm getting the same vibe as you. He was underrated and now everyone is realizing it. Hopefully he doesn't rise too much.

A lot of those guys are still young and can fix it, but I agree. As much as I like Cook I wouldn't take him at 6. I'd want to drop back and add an extra 2nd. This draft is super deep, but the top 5-10 picks are kind of weak outside of Garrett.

Great size, wingspan, moves well, tested great, and had a great senior bowl. One guy I'm not very high on is Davenport. Yeah, the size and wingspan is there but he has been nothing but meh since I've watched him. Some are comparing him to a player I liked last year in LeRaven Clark and he is not even close IMO. I wish we would have taken a flyer on Clark last year because he's already developed into a starting LT in his rookie year.

Saw in the paper that Fournette didn't watch football as a kid, never really thought about going to the NFL. Is it any knock on possible motivation? There's no doubt about his physical talent - but that (it's always been easy for him) plus a lack of deep-seated love for the game makes me wonder how much "heart" this guy is going to have. It's one thing on a great dominant team with a winning culture like LSU. That's obviously not the Jets. Double that pressure for anyone drafted in here to be the "face"'of a franchise. I don't watch college ball - so just putting out a thought for perspective from you guys who watch college. The want to be the best (as he has shown in College) & the big money should keep him motivated. Doesn't seem like a knucklehead. I mean, Antonio Gates wanted to be in the NBA instead of the NFL. Worked out for him.

The have either had or scheduled formal interviews with several of the top quarterbacks in the NFL draft as of Friday. The list included North Carolina's Mitch Trubisky, Clemson's Deshaun Watson. Texas Tech's Patrick Mahomes, Notre Dame's DeShone Kizer, Pittsburgh's Nate Peterman and Tennessee's Josh Dobbs. All of them confirmed their interviews with the Jets when they met the media at the NFL scouting combine Friday afternoon.

I doubt he makes it to our 2nd pick. After the combine he's going 15-32. He's a match up nightmare with a lot of room to grow.

Not sure what happened but he just lost himself a lot of money. No idea what the argument was about but even if he was right, he probably should have walked away.
Be interesting to hear what it was about but you would almost have to think it must have been injury or drug related.

Be interesting to hear what it was about but you would almost have to think it must have been injury or drug related. He was falling even before that outburst. He's similar to how Randy Gregory was viewed during the draft process because in Gregory's case he was falling because of his skills, then he went all crazy compounding the issue and the rest is history for him. I don't think Foster was ever the problem child like Gregory but he was overhyped big time in the draft process.

The second and third round are really starting to look nice in this draft. I really hope we can trade Sheldon and pickup another 2nd or third rounder.
1st Round: Fournette 2nd Round: Forrest Lamp 3rd Round: Justin Evans 3rd Round (Sheldon Trade) Cameron Sutton 3rd Round: Tyus Bowser 5th Round: Jake Butt

We don't need Forrest Lamp but I would love to draft him. He would be a fan favorite and all pro throughout the next decade barring injuries.
