• Good size • Good speed and athleticism • Not very aggressive in run support • Will sometimes take bad angles • Good tackler • Gets fooled at times on play action passes • Has excellent range and closing speed in centerfield • Just ok in man coverage • Plays a little soft at times • Aggressive on called blitzes and shows good closing speed • He has a lot of Kerry Rhodes to his game * I'm not a fan at all at number 6. I think Jamal Adams is much better and I prefer Budda Baker as well.

Elite range Bites on fakes Takes bad angles Can hit, but misses a lot of tackles. Injury concerns He didn't start his first two years and almost quit. "He nearly quit. Coming home in the winter of his freshman year, Hooker told his mother, Angela Dennis, that he was thinking of leaving Ohio State to pursue basketball, maybe walking onto a nearby college program. He was shot down. You’re not a quitter, Davis said, and you’re going to finish what you started. Two years after questioning his future in football, Hooker is one of the country’s breakout stars: an All-America safety in his first season as a starter, combining a basketball background and a deep and newfound commitment to football to stand out even among the Buckeyes’ nearly unmatched collection of talent." www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/bigten/2016/11/10/ohio-state-malik-hooker-all-american-safety/93598230/He only played one year of HS football, so he's still learning the position. He has great range, but is hesitant in his reads (pass & runs). He reminds me of Kerry Rhodes who was a QB turned S. I'm not taking him at 6, but if we drop to 10-15 I'd consider it.

He was decent in coverage, but if you had corners that could lock it down he was great at giving help over the top.

Agree pretty much with both of your assessments. He will make his share of plays, but he looks like a big play guy for both teams, bad angles, biting on play action yield big plays over the top of the defense, which has been an issue for us. Add the fact that he is coming off of multiple surgeries, and I don't want any part of him at 6. I know most of the draft analysts have said the injuries won't hurt him, they are not the type of injuries to recur, but if I recall, a lot of the same things were said about Dee Milliner a few years ago and we all know his story.
