Headed into the office. I'll have my pick in around 9.

Serious Question for this group:Why don't you love Kareem Hunt?... Perine McNichols? Mack?? Cmon, you guys honestly think McNichols is a better running back that Hunt? I have him as #5 in the class. Help me understand what you folks aren't seeing with him Kareem Hunt looks like a fine RB. I went with Mack over Hunt by a pube. The thing I like about Mack is he has a way of changing directions really well, even in tight spaces.

Since we are now into the 5th round, from now on, all missed picks will be given the highest rated player on the Available Player List, regardless of position, team need or scheme fit.

The 49ers select project QB Joshua Dobbs out of Tenn. Nice pick, though maybe a little higher than I expect to see him in the real draft. Love the kid though. High character, super smart and a terrific athlete with a very strong arm. Has some Cunningham in him, but with added smarts. Would love to see the Jets add him late in the real thing next month.

I think Petty may be toast. He's 26 this year, but is still a major work in progress. Hack is just 22 with higher upside, and I don't see why the Jets would keep Petty as a #3 if Hack outperforms him in pre-season.

I just think we have too many holes on this roster to use a pick on a late round developmental QB that is not likely to ever be anything more than a back-up. Sure, you can get lucky with a Russell Wilson or Dak late day2/early day 3. In the 5th round, you get a back up. last 10 years, there have been 17 QB selected in the 5th round. None have become anything more than a back-up. The only one who has started more than 10 games is John Skelton. Maybe someday AJ McCarron gets a chance to start. If a guy is seen as a potential legit starter, he won't make it to the 5th.

Yea, I like him as well. Good developmental prospect. As the 49ers I recognize that Colin K. is not in their future and they need a young QB to groom. Dobbs has the tools but is very raw. I had no interest in drafting a QB high. But in the 5th, even though it may seem a bit early, Dobbs gives the 49ers great value in a weak QB draft. The way the board fell, I could not wait any longer and I am not as big of a fan of C.Kelly.

I told you back before we started that you would probably be the first guy to go off the spreadsheet. 1,000+ names and its not good enough for you. Haha I actually found him, but he's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy down there. I think you might be safe this year. Sorry guys, I like him as well, and I will be 'reaching' for him.
