People are morons congregating at the idiot intersection of libertarian street and liberal boulevard
Vendors want to use any kind of information to sell stuff to you including your past purchase info they already have
They offer incentives coupons etc
You can always block them opt out etc
Meanwhile left wing google and FB influence opinion "Trending News" help censor information in China etc š” š”

Speak for yourself. I use a VPN. There is difference between you choosing to "give your freedom away" rather than having the government making that choice for you. So you have to buy special software to hide your private life from your own government. Think about that. Freedom is dead. Nope every browser has SSL encryption built in https://... Free! Crack open a browser sometime and read up on it! !!

All different degrees of security but honestly if an advanced hacker/government wants your information it will be theirs unless you unplug and only use cash.

Only an uninformed dope doesn't know most information leaks\theft come from insiders. Commercial, gubmint, you name it.

What a load of Schumer this all is.
If you buy anything on the net, those sites are selling your info.
If you accept cookies, most of them are tracking you.
2 months ago I was shopping for rims for my car. 9 out of 10 unrelated sites I visited after that had ads for rims, most even had the exact rims I was shopping for.
Want some privacy? close your twitter and facebook accounts!

ISPs getting into the game, I guess I look at that a little differently. What if the Post Office, or UPS, or FedEx, started tracking where you order things from by mail, and selling that data, and you start getting tons of catalogs and the like? Its more a nuisance than anything. I think most rational folks understand their ISPs arent going to have access to their banking or health info.

That is funny... I can only imagine some of the sites they're going to on the down low. The bolded is key though - just because they CAN do it, doesnt mean they WILL do it.
