Played with my sopne down in SC over the past weekend and I've suddenly realized that watching Masters on the Range Live like a mongo for hours on end wont help me not suck.
Honestly was about to give up on the game after years of suckage and frustration.. but me and the kid really enjoyed playing together, so I might give it a whirl again.
(attention Stokes, there wont be dogs/hardy mums or ribz involved)

"golf lessons"? this is a real thing?
I've never heard of "basketball lessons" cuz, ya konw: rules are simple, point of the game is simple, getting the ball in the net is simple...

I've heard ok things about lessons at Spring Rock in New Hyde Park. It would probably be of assistance if you spoke Asian.
Unless you have a swing like Charles Barkley, you just need to keep playing. And one lesson isn't going to fix everything. You need to go regularly. Case in point: I was the long hitter in my group, regularly spraying the ball 300+ yards off the tee, dead center. Then I was gifted a lesson about 10 years ago. I was told my follow through was too fast, so I adjusted it...and lost 50 yards off the tee. I said "fuck this guy" and never went back for more lessons. Still haven't gotten the distance back. Total commitment or don't bother.

You may have heard of basketball coaches. Maybe not. I've heard ok things about lessons at Spring Rock in New Hyde Park. It would probably be of assistance if you spoke Asian. Total commitment or don't bother. I went for a lesson about 3 weeks after hip replacement surgery. (gift from the wife) I thought I was fine. The guy tells me to hit some balls so he can get an idea whats going on with my swing. I hack at a few balls and I can imagine it must have looked like Herman Munster swinging, I was so stiff. I top all of the balls and miss a few completely. The guy says "stop...stop...." I look up and he's just staring at me. Finally he says "Can I ask you what you are doing here? Really?" I never went back. Now this has nothing to do with what you posted but I agree Spring Rock has many asians. I would not fit in. Played with my sopne down in SC over the past weekend and I've suddenly realized that watching Masters on the Range Live like a mongo for hours on end wont help me not suck. (attention Stokes, there wont be dogs/hardy mums or ribz involved) What do you shoot? (besides dogs I mean) I'll answer this seriously. If I actually counted and gave myself penalties for lost balls etc...... about 200. Hence, my query. Thankee.

Just doing a few simple things will improve your game tremendously. Keep your head down and your arm straight when swinging. Go to a range and hit a few buckets. I started out shooting in the 130-140 range and then I started practicing. Every time I hit I would just tell myself keep your head down and your left arm straight. I got into the low 100s pretty quick.

I always sliced, so i adjusted my stance to aim left, crazy looking, and it worked. I was never super long, but knew my clubs/distance etc, and would hit my handicap. Then I decided to get lessons, he screwed me up so bad that i not only stopped the lessons, i basically quit the game. Think Ive been twice in three years. Ill hit one like Tiger then the next 4 swings are worm burners, i ruined a fun game by not continuing with lessons.

I got into the low 100s pretty quick. Yeah, the head thing is a problem. I also find that I am ground shy which means I tend to not want to contact the ground so I pull up when I should be hitting down. I do tend to bend my elbows at the top of my swing as well.
