Did 35 on the bench, with a decent 4.65 60 and a great 4.19 shuttle. I think he is more of a 4-3 end. Definite 2nd rounder.

* Squat and powerful build, reminds be a bit of James Harrison * Had a pretty good combine and was a top performer in the bench: www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/carl-lawson?id=2557901* Team captain at Auburn, so he should be good in the locker room * Was a freshman all american and 1st team all SEC as a junior, but had to injury riddled seasons in between, so there are durability concerns * Does a real nice job of using his hands on his pass rush * Has a nice speed to power rush * Does not have a variety of moves, but does a nice job of stutter stepping to setup the tackle * Experience playing in a 2 & 3 point stance * Not very flexible at the top of the arc * Does a nice job of setting the edge * Looks a little slow sometimes diagnosing the run |

I don't know what I am talking about but I will give it a wag anyway.
I don't want him before the fith round, he seems to have a nice burst and some speed but the bull rush was all he seems to have, sucked in the run game showed no ability to cover and was stonewalled by every big guy he ran into.
Buy the buy I appreciate your work putting these threads together Maury, I am ill qualified to comment in them for the most part but do enjoy them.

Buy the buy I appreciate your work putting these threads together Maury, I am ill qualified to comment in them for the most part but do enjoy them.Dude, I'm an attorney that hasn't played or coached organized football since freshman year in high school, so I am as unqualified as anyone here  I'm just glad you guys enjoy them and that we can actually analyze guys and discuss them together. Often on message boards, draft analysis is very curt (this guy sucks, etc.) but we have some good guys on this board. |

I always roll my eyes when people think they are draft expert when even those who are paid to be draft experts aren't all that good. And the Jets have been horrible. I like reading this draft forum because everyone seems to take it all seriously while still remembering that we are all hacks. Lets just hope that we don't feel that Mac is a hack after this draft. |
