Rather than unfriend I simply unfollowed a bunch of misguided dopes aka fake friends and disowned family

My feed is much cleaner patriotic and less abnormal

This way I can occasionally surveil them without the noise

Of course, my brother and a number of friends are conservative. But they are thoughtful, caring honest people with real reasons behind their political beliefs. We have respectful discussions and understand that we aren't the cartoon cut outs that seem to permeate the internet. They aren't racist, sexist or mysoginist, and don't agree with all their "sides" policies.

As for defriending and such nonsense, 90 percent of what passes for political discourse these days is just noise. Over simplification and yelling "hooray for our side" and your side sucks. Who wants to see that?

This dividing us is just what the powers that be love. Both sides can act as if they are our saviors.
