Playoff week 2...Jets at Cleveland ..Jets up by 10 points 20-10 with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter...Gastineau hits Bernie Kosar late on 4th down and the Cleveland drive is extended..15 yd roughing the QB....the damn game was all but over....Cleveland scores the next 10 to tie the game and force OT....the field in Cleveland was a frozen mudpile too....in OT..CLevelands kicker CJ Mosley misses a 23 yd fg and the Jets have another chance, but fail to score....Mosley kicks a 27yder in the second Overtime and the Jets lose 23-20 in another epic collapse..After starting the season 10-1 the Jets season is over.....I still to this day want to punch burning coldsore for the game....and thats how it was today in Jets History

The season was lost far earlier than this playoff game - also there was no way we were going to beat the Broncos and Elway.

Gut wrenching. Hit by injuries to key players, we lost are last 5 regular season games, including the division title. I remember being 10-1 and on top of the world! This is the season where the media started to pile on the Jets for their collapse, aided by Bob? McQuire who was teamed with Gumble on NBC boardcast. McQuire (who played for the Bills) before retirement, predicted a Jets lost every week after the 10-1 start. I was really pissed they made the Jets into some kind of joke. They were kicking ass that year, before all the injuries, and had this playoff game in the bag up by 10 with 4:00 to play. Gut wrenching.

Bing, what about 1/3/10, when the Jets crushed the Bengals 37-0 to clinch the wildcard game in Rex's first year. Completely dominant performance by the defense -- allowed 0 net passing yards and 72 total yards of offense to the Bengals.
I thought it was the of something really big for the Jets, thought we would be contenders for years to come, but we all know how it turned out.

Yeah I remember that....Paul had a big dumb mouth and hated the Jets being an old Buffalo guy.....
