Both S the jets drafted seem to be excellent students of the game who do a great job of using their reads to get into position to make plays. IMO that is the most important trait in a S.

The sense that I am getting, between picking 3 high character guys yesterday and trading back to accumulate picks, is that the management perceives there to have been a lot of questionable character guys in the locker room so they want to flip the roster and change the culture of the team. Of course, I could be completely full of shit.

I'm curious to see how Bowles is going to use Adams and Maye. They seem interchangeable, but Both are single high type safeties (correct me if I am wrong).

Can never have enough gators on the team as far as I'm concerned.

He's really impressive when the action is in front of him.
I agree that he's interchangeable with Adams. But in our base packages I think he'll be our starter at FS with Adams playing closer to the line IMO.
Starting to get pretty excited about the potential these two possess playing next to each other.

Total bust just like every other second rounder. I just watched the Vandy tape and he is an atrocious tackler, unless you like your safeties to grab the ball carrier by the shoulder pads and try to sling them down. No instincts, late reactions, and likes to be around the pile at the end of the play. Also looks slow in coverage and has problems with change of direction.

Watch the second game and you will feel better. * ok size and speed * plays the run better when he is closer to the line then when he is coming from the high position, where he can take funky angles * solid hitter, but tackles way too high * has to learn to tackle at the waist or legs (which they teach in pop warner) * showed pretty good range as the single high safety * solid player. He isn't elite at anything, but high floor guy who can play the single high and in the box
