This is the over/under total wins for 2018 in Vegas....
This would translate into a 4th - 6th slot in the 2018 Draft.

With everyone already thinking QB in Round 1 next year I'd submit that at least 3 of the teams at the top (Jets, 49ers, Jaguars, possibly Browns) would be in the hunt for a QB and other teams (specifically the Cardinals) will be working hard to get one.

I already knew it would play out exactly this way.

Honestly, the only teams I could see possibly winning less than the jets are the niners and bears. I don't think the jets will be embarrassed every week, they just don't have enough to win unless petty or hack plays like a seasoned pro.

This may sound strange but I think the only thing that could put the Jets in fighting range of winning games is if they can stop the run. I don't think the Jets will score many points. But I think if they can force teams to pass they might have an ability to force turnovers and pull out some games. This will be an interesting season for sure.

We better hope Blake Bortles, Jared Goff and Deshone Kizer play well this year.

We better hope Blake Bortles, Jared Goff and Deshone Kizer play well this year. I am confident Bortles will improve with Doug Marrone as coach and coughlin in charge. Hello run dominant offense with play action passing. A QBs best friend. Kizer will not see the field. Jackson trusts Kessler and they also will give Brock osweiler a shot if they don't cut him. Browns are tired of losing, they really, reallywant to win some games for a change. Goff is a mystery, but can the rams really give up on the first pick in the whole draft so soon?

I like Goff, so I expect him to bounce back.

Not to mention that Buffalo picked up an additional first rounder that they can offer in a trade. It's going to be tough to get one of the top 3 guys.

The 49ers won't be good and will need a QB (they'll draft high). The Browns and Bills BOTH accumulated 1st round picks for next year. The Cardinals place a high priority on getting a QB in this Draft as this is likely Carson Palmer's last season. When Trubisky, Mahomes, Watson were all gone by 13 they quickly pivoted to fixing their Defense and pushed the QB need to next year. In other words, LOTS of teams are angling for a future signal caller next year and the Jets have less ammo than some other teams. I posted in a pre-Draft thread that the Jets should look to move back in 2017 from #6 to maybe around 12, 13, or 14 and NOT ask for a 2nd rounder this year in return but rather a 1st rounder next year. Knowing our Jets, they'll win just enough games to be out of the running for a QB. If they finish with the 2018 5th pick or later I don't see anyway that they move into the Top 2 spots next year unless they do something stupid like trade away 1st rounders in 2019, 2020, 2021. Come to think of it....that would be very Jet-like.

The games that might be winnable later in the season because the opponent's season is lost already are all early season games when those teams will feel like they are still in the hunt. Unless Hack or Petty shows they've got real talent, I really can't imagine them winning more than 2 or 3 games, and those wins would require a good amount of luck combined with poor play by the opponent.

The Jets are a lock for the 6th pick because...
we're the Jets.
