The wife and I hit 25 years of marital bliss in Oct. We have been to Jamaica twice, Cancun 3 times and Aruba once. I am thinking Costa Rica to celebrate the milestone, which only three others in my family have hit mind you. Anyone ever go? Any recommendations? I want an all inclusive with the ability to go offsite for site seeing and any other activities that might be available.
Thankee

Isn't Costa Rica one of those countries where you gotta be real careful, where you stay and where you go?
You traveling on something other than a U.S. passport, perhaps?

Does she know about YOU'RE avatar? She helped pick it out. After 25 years we have no secrets and have discussed a wide variety of topics.

I looked at the State Dept. Watches and warnings and there is nothing really there. Mexico'a advisory is worse and we have had a blast every time we have gone.

Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful and friendly places I've been to. Been a few years and wanting to go back ever since. Some of the nicest people, best food, awesome landscapes.
Some recommendations off the top of my head: Drake Bay and the resorts/beach condos there, basically living with the locals. Manuel Antonio, the national park with dolphins, giant caves, birds of paradise all that nice shit. Mountains and forests in Monteverde, zip-lining is a definite must. San Carlos and climbing the active volcano there. San Jose is the capital, plenty of stuff to do there though not as touristy as the other resort locations. One of the few countries where, with a little determination, you can swim in the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean in the same day - that was awesome. Waterfalls, alligators, machetes...too much stuff to name.
Don't know the names of any of the resorts but those places are definitely worth looking into. Good luck, pura vida.
