I think it would be a GREAT idea to have the dunbar(dine coach ) to be promoted to DC. He already has the respect from some of our players, which new coaches would have to earn, a Rex disciple so we can play a similar defense, and our best dline players are very loyal to him. It would be one of the smartest moves, but maybe he'll follow Rex... maybe I should get an interview for the GM spot LOL Marrone/Dunbar

It's up to Doug Hopefully he brings Schwartz with him to oversee the defense. If he can get 10+ sacks out of a 320 lb NT like Kyle Williams, then imagine what he can do with Richardson.

Would be nice to see him back. Also, Henry Ellard - who did a good job in his previous stint with the Jets - is also out there. I think Marrone, if he is hired, will assemble a good staff. Hopefully he gets over his Hackett attachment though.

Would rather see someone like Trestman get hired as OC.

Dunbar probably ends up as Rex's DC in Atlanta would be my guess.

No. In his entire coaching career, Dunbar has never been anything but a Defensive Line coach. I imagine there's a reason for that. Being good at teaching techniques at a specific position doesn't mean that you excel at designing schemes or gameplanning. He's respected enough that if being a coordinator was something he was interested in, he'd have been one by now.

You never really hear his name being mentioned for interviews. You would think someone with his credentials would have gotten a shot by now if they wanted it. I hope he comes back here but I have a feeling he ends up following Rex. If Rex ends up not coaching I am sure he will land somewhere.

I think Gym Shorts is still under contract with the Bills for the time being, also I think he is being interviewed for the Bills HC vacancy.

Dunbar is an excellent d-line coach, but why would anyone believe that would also make him a good DC? I'm not saying he wouldn't, just curious if there was some facts behind the belief that he would be a good DC? Like, was he one at a college? Or, has he ever coached any other position? He may very well be the D equivalent of Callahan. Great at coaching lineman, not so great at other things.

How could Rex not end up coaching somewhere - it was all Idzik's fault. He's the greatest coach in the world. The other teams were going to be lining up to hire him 5 minutes after he was cut loose. He was going to have his pick of jobs. Maybe the other teams have figured out that he's missed the playoffs 4 years in row. Maybe they see that he hasn't developed a young offensive player into a player that's above average at his position in 6 years. Maybe they see that he makes tactical mistakes every game and that his teams consistently commit penalties, turn the ball over, don't force turnovers and waste TOs and that he's on the short end of half-time adjustments every game. But at least he charismatic and can guarantee a SB.
