I think we're all on the same page here; baring Jesus himself stepping into Hackenberg's body, we're going to shooting for the stars next April.
May this be a place to discuss, argue and belittle our fellow hampurites as the College season rolls along and names come into focus.
The obvious suspects: Sam Darnold Josh Rosen Josh Allen Luke Falk Lamar Jackson Mason Rudolf
Names to keep an eye on: Riley Ferguson (Memphis) Baker Mayfield (okl) Trace McSorley (penn st)
Should be fun to chime in weekly on who's looking the part, who's sliding and who's rising.

Love Falk.
Darnold was outstanding last half of last year, have to see more.
Rosen seems like a doosh and is a bit frail like Goff.
Allen and Rudolph I'm going to watch a lot.

By placing Falk in your avatar you have all but guaranteed he will never be a Jet. For me, it's really between Darnold and Allen. We'll see how this season progresses though. Darnold will be getting a massive amount of hype and attention this year, the USC Heisman hype machine is in full effect. Seeing how he handles this will interesting. I still think there is a good chance he doesn't declare and stays at USC for another year.

If I'm ranking where they are today as players, I'd go:
Rudolph Darnold/Rosen Falk Allen Jackson
All this is subject to a complete reorganization after the upcoming season as Allen has the best tools of the bunch, but he just isn't consistent enough yet.

ASJ is gonna come 'round - I'm telling ya!
I can't wait to see how a few of these guys respond this year. For Falk and Rudolf, it's sort of "business as usual" as they're just continuing to do their thing. Darnold on other hand is gonna have perform under the national spotlight, and to a lesser degree, Allen too. Rosen has to show something to push back on all the bad juju being thrown at him - he was supposed to be THE guy in '18 draft... Meanwhile, the guy we don't talk about much - Jackson is interesting case in that he was on fire for so long before he kind of gassed out. He was carrying the whole team on his back. Can he finish this time? He's an underrated passer IMO.

He's ascendance into a monster playmaker for The Jets would complete me.

Jets will find a way to fuck this up.
My best guess......They win just enough games to Draft somewhere around 7th or 8th. They then completely mortgage the future (something like trading 1st round picks in 2018, 2019, 2020) to move up to #2 and select the 1 guy out of 3 who turns out to be a bust.
Oh, and they have Brock Osweiler under Center by 2020 on a cheap deal.

I really really really like this coming years QB's. I think you have 5 potential studs in Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Falk and Rudolf. Baker Mayfield might also be on that list. Jets might win some games this year because of the defense (which I believe will make a strong resurgence) but hopefully we stay within the top 5 or 6 picks.

McSorely? No thanks. I know that short QB's can succeed (Wilson/Brees), but I wouldn't draft a guy hoping he was an exception to the rule that short QB's can't succeed in the NFL. Plus, if the Jets are drafting a QB in the first round, we know Hack didn't make a miracle comeback this season. No way I am spending a high pick on another PSU QB.

If we're drafting top 5 that means one of 5 stud QBs is going to be available, all of which are 6-4 or taller. If we take a 6-0 guy when anyone of those top 5 guys are still on the board I'll self immolate. I won't shy away from a school because of crap in the past (USC) but I'm not drafting a shrimp. _
