I think Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield all have the same chance of success in the NFL. It will really just depend on if Cleveland, Buffalo or another team takes them. Their careers will face a bug hurdle because Cleveland is .,.. well, Cleveland. And Buffalo's coaching staff has shown this season that they are clueless as to how to handle a QB. I would trust Morton to develop any of these guys and I do believe that Mayfield's personality fits well with Morton. On top of that, Bowles calm in-game demeanor would probably be good for Mayfield as well. But, I have a weird feeling that Lamar Jackson will end up being the pick because Mac is obsessed with measurables and potential. I'm OK with that as well.

So long as only 3 QBs are taken when the Jets pick comes around, we're good.

Not as smitten with Mayfield as you guys. But definitely would love to have Lamar Jackson. Think he is underrated because Louisville is horrid. Speaking of underrated, I feel like cousins could be a Drew Brees situation. Really Brees was not considered don't HOF guy when he was let go and his stats are eerily similar to cousins.

Here is my problem with Cousins. I've seen him play great. I've never seen him play great in a clutch situation. In fact, I've seen him shit the bed in crunch time. The Saints game is a great example. Up by 15 very late in the 4th quarter and he couldn't convert a first down to keep the ball away from Brees. The Saints tie it and leave a minute on the clock with no timeouts for Skins. Cousins gets close to FG range and then incredible gets called for intentional grounding. And on then next play I'm pretty sure he was sacked. Game goes to OT. Saints win. That game was a microcosm of what Cousins is. He is excellent in the early part of the game with nothing on the line and you need to hope for a blowout because if the other team keeps it close, Cousins can not be counted on to make a play to win the game.

The kid has special skills and after watching a couple of interviews with him, I like him. He seems focused on being a football player, rather than focused on being a celebrity. In other words he is not like Cam Newton. Plus, I really think John Morton could build an offense around Jackson's skills, and as a rookie we could keep McCown as a starter and mentor and then install Lamar Jackson packages for games to slowly work him into being a pro. That way he would not have too much on his plate at one time.

There are 4 QB's who have separated themselves from the pack in this draft, and there are guys after those 4 that could end up being excellent pro QBs. It really depends on the team that drafts them. The organization and coaching staff makes or breaks every young QB. Just look at Jared Goff. Rams ownership likely saved his career by firing Jeff Fisher and hiring Sean McVay. In all likelihood, whoever gets drafted by the Browns will not fulfill his potential unless there is a whole new (and exceptional) coaching staff. Hugh Jackson was a very good coach when hired by Cleveland and that organization has destroyed a good man. I do believe the Jets coaching staff can develop a young QB who has the skills to succeed. Morton has shown he knows how to play to her personnel's strengths and Todd Bowles calm in-game demeanor and culture of requiring players to earn their playing time in practice will, IMO, bring the best out of a QB that has the skills and the work ethic to succeed.

That way he would not have too much on his plate at one time. He is a highly underrated prospect. He is not a really raw prospect like Allen. He isn't a fully polished guy but he is accurate and can pass from the pocket. He ends up having to do everything for Louisville and so people just focus on the flash plays so they forget that he actually is a great QB overall

I think Brees had the same kind of knocks on him. Washington is a shit show so I feel like he could make a big jump with Morton. Just think he is getting crushed for more subjective stuff and might be getting overanalyzed. I'd of course prefer to draft a QB but we may have played ourselves out of one

What does this have to do with us drafting a d-lineman in the first round?
