Metastatic Melanoma whoop whoop lucky fucking me. Mass is on the left side of my neck. MRI of the head to rule out brain involvement Friday, Surgery to cut the fucker out on Monday and PET scan on the 9th to see if there is a primary site. The oddity is that it is subcutaneous. Most Melanoma's are on the surface of the skin so they are real concerned about it being somewhere we just cannot see.
Telling my kids last Thursday night was absolutely a fucking brutally tough thing to do. Sopne is struggling. Wifne spontaneously bursts into tears, which scares me as she is a 30 year RN, and daughtne is trying to hide it.
I am seeing one of the foremost Melanoma experts in this region, so I am told. Dr. Ollila heads the UNC Melanoma program.
Say a Prayer folks. Hopefully the Sopne and I make it to Tampa.

Thanks guys. It really is surreal. I forget about it for a few hours and then get kicked in the crotch again when I think about it. Just glad it is me and not my wife or kids.

Yes this is almost as bad as 99 decking Kosar. Almost  No history in my family at all. Crappy lottery win is all it is. |
