He's gotta have something right? His personal lawyers have allegedly been investigating the leaks for months. Maybe they have something. Who knows. As for Comey, I don't think leaking the memos themselves is illegal bc they were not classified. It may violate executive privilege but violating executive privilege is more of an ethics issue. And there is a very grey area where executive privilege changes from a shield into a sword. The most telling thing I took from his testimony is that he said he leaked them because he wanted to prompt a special counsel. Then his dear buddy gets chosen to be special counsel. Right there you have an conflict of interest for the special counsel. His star witness with regards to the Flynn/obstruction investigation is his friend and protege who just admitted to having an ax to grind with his former boss. Either way, Comey is a "coward". He called himself that in his testimony. And if he was worried about the reputation of the FBI he wouldn't have leaked the memos to the press, he would have turned them over to the investigative committees in Congress. Trump's lawyers need to focus exposing Mueller's conflict of interest. I think Mueller is going to go very broad and try to snag them in something that has to do with Trump's business. The obstruction and collusion just isn't there. The collusion has been investigated for almost a year with help from all intelligence agencies and it has turned up nothing. And if he thought they could get Trump on the obstruction he wouldn't have let Comey testify about the meeting where Trump and him discussed Flynn.

Comey was asked by Sen Grassley under oath if he had ever leaked anything to the press. He said no and it was before he leaked to the law professor. Maybe I'm reading more into Trumps tweet but it feels like something is gonna drop.

Gun to my head, I dont think the memos were the first time Comey used his Columbia U. pal to leak something to the press. Comey is a career swamp monster. And a lot of the Trump/Comey stories were written by the same NYT "reporter". However proving such a case is nearly impossible. Unless they were surveilling the reporter which we know they did get a warrant to do. We just dont know who it was for. I think the main goal is to tarnish Comey in the court of public opinion and cast a shadow over the Mueller investigation. Both of which have already been done.

Trump tells Comey he hopes an investigation goes away. Democrats: "OMG obstruction of justice! Impeach!"
Hillary destroys documents under subpoena. Democrats: "Nothing to see here! You must be a misogynist!"
