I can’t believe they’re on year 12 of the rebuild, and no where in site of a cup.
Baffling snow is still employed. Weight has fizzled out and needs to go, also.

Team has become unwatchable. Made it through the first period last night -- even though we were winning, we allowed 26 shots on goal. In one period. That is a game for some teams. 50 shots on goal is becoming routine for this team. I don't get how an NHL defense can be this bad on a night in night out basis. Spent 90 minutes watching snowboarding on the Olympics last night instead of the last two periods of the Isles game. At least I was entertained.
And, from what I have read, it does not appear that either Garth or Dougie are on the hot seat. 2nd in the league in goals scored. With that type of offense we should be a Cup contender, instead we are a long shot to make the playoffs. Time for Ledecky to stop basking in the glow of the Belmont arena deal and do something to make the team better.
There are 35 goalies in the NHL with 20 or more starts this year -- Halak and Greiss are 34 & 35 in GAA. And it is not all their fault. Greiss has been bad, but Jaro has been okay, but he faces 40+ shots on a nightly basis. Its tough to keep GAA down.
Barzal is a great young player, a guy a competent GM could build around, but I can't see why JT would choose to stay. Consistently between the 8th and 10th best team in the conference and one playoff appearance every 4 years. Why would he keep signing up for that. Especially with no end in sight.
I don't know which is worse right now, the Bowles/Macc Jets or the Dougie/Garth Isles.

What's sad is Vegas built a strong playoff team in 1 night and Garth has had 12 years and not even come close. And he's had plenty of 1st rounders to do it.

I don't know which is worse right now, the Bowles/Macc Jets or the Dougie/Garth Isles. All I know is it's tough sledding being an Isles/Jets fan. |

3-0 win over the Rags. 9 of our last 10 against them. First shutout of the season. Jaro was great. 3 more points for Barzal. For one night at least, all is well with the Isles.
I won't even mention the 50 shots we gave up tonight.

Another shutout. Another 3-0 win. This time it is Greiss with 45 saves. 95 straight saves for Jaro/Greiss in 2 games -- gotta be some sort of franchise record for back to back shutouts. Back in the 8 spot in the Conference. Great goal by Beau to put them up 2. He has been great in the last couple of months. Things are looking up. For now. Still think we miss the playoffs, but its been a good couple of nights against teams in our Division.

$5M / Yr AAV isnt awful if he keeps up the 55-65 Pts per year production AND if it encourages JT to re-sign here. We've given out worse contracts of late (Clutterbuck, Ladd, even Czikas).
But like Big L said, if JT leaves and Bailey goes back to being invisible, its a bad signing.

Hate to say it, but maybe it’s time to move on from the JT/ Snow era? (error)? Can’t seem to win with JT and Bailey et al on the roster. Maybe move JT for prospects and picks, start fresh with Barzal to build around. Fire snow and weight. Start fresh with picks, prospects, Barzal, new coach, new GM, new arena.
The Snow Experiment must end. Immediately. 12 years. It’s time. Everyone’s been patient enough.
