I missed most of last night's game, but aside from the god-awful, historically incompetent power play, I am kind of encouraged by what I have seen so far this season. If (and that is a big if) they can somehow fix the power play, I don;t think a top 3 spot is out of the question. I wonder if any team in NHL history has gone through an entire month of an NHL season being outscored on the power play. I wish I shared your optimism. After a bit of a struggle vs the lowly coyotes, then last nights utter debacle, I think this team is right where they always are. No improvement this year, and JTs a goner guaranteed. I am not usually optimistic. Not sure what has gotten into me, |

Wow, a PP goal. And did you see that - they shot the puck. AND, didn't allow a shorty. Down to -2 on the PP for the year.

Great effort and big win vs a tough Nashville team.
I understand you can't get that effort every game. No one can do it. Even us at work have days when we're dragging ass.
But is 75% of the time too much to ask?

They gotta get better on special teams. Also first 3 PPs had 3 shots. Thought they learned their lesson they gotta shoot on the PP. Good win. Some nice goals, broke it open in the third. JTs breakaway- why doesn't he do that shot in the shootout? |

Cant say enough about Barzal and how good he looks so far. Almost making me forget the Duchene stuff over the offseason. They may have a legit #2 center in Barzal.

Tomorrow I'll watch isles caps, not jets bills. I have my concerns about a letdown though vs the caps tomorrow.
