Try to understand how economics works. Exactly what are your qualifications in this area? Other than spewing insults on an internet board? So, let's see. I can formulate an opinion based upon the words of a former Secretary of Labor. Or, I can listen to the ramblings of a bloke named Trades. Here are the words of Reich: Foxconn, the Taiwanese technology giant that supplies gadgets to Apple, Google and Amazon, has agreed to build a factory in Wisconsin. Trump and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker are crowing about the deal. But one overlooked fact: Wisconsin is offering Foxconn $3 billion in state tax breaks. Foxconn has so far committed to creating 3,000 jobs at the plant by 2020, with an average yearly wage of $53,000. Which means Wisconsin is paying $1 million per job. Not a great deal. Foxconn says the number of jobs has the “potential to grow” to 13,000. That seems doubtful but even assuming the number does grow to 13,000 jobs, Wisconsin will be paying about $230,700 for each. Still not a terrific deal. Ive pretty much had it with this place. You, and your ilk can continue to blow one another while hoping to lick Trumps balls. Cheers. That is fantasy math. Wisconsin isn't GIVING any money away. They are agreeing to not get $3 billion in taxes that they wouldn't have gotten anyway in lieu of getting jobs, I read between 3000 and 22000 at Foxconn and then all of the supporting jobs that having that many new employees would entail. They also feel that supporting companies, workers and construction will add more jobs and additional tax revenue that they wouldn't have had either so it is a net gain unless you are going to complain about the money that they never had in the first place. so it isn't costing Wisconsin any money to lure the jobs there. Don't you pull that common sense shit in here mister. What are your qualifications?!?!

Thats for damn sure. Wisconsin also makes the money on the income taxes and when these people spend their money they will make money on the sales taxes. And if these people actually buy homes they begin to pay property and school taxes. Im surprised that the same people who make the argument that people on welfare, in the lower class and immigrants pay taxes and are good for the economy bc they spend money don't apply the same thinking here. Trump Derangement Syndrome.

LOL, I looked for the article because it seemed like something was missing. It was a FB post and the last line from Reich was "What do you think?". Porgyman cut that off.

The same numbers the orange clown claimed as phony and inflated jobs #s and under-reported unemployment #s are now the magically completely true and 100% accurate numbers you guys are using to support your argument. LOL. Keep drinking the koolaid sheep. And yes, the carmakers number spike contributing to job loss was anticipated... 1,159. What accounts for the extra 3,841 jobs lost disparity from 243K to 248K? Forget what you read.... look around you. What do you see. Help wanted signs are everywhere...... and ..... The major employers can't find skilled workers. Steve JObs told this to Obama many years ago... the department of education and most of our public education dollars go to waste to pay pensions, benefits etc... very little get to the kids. Read up on Zuckerburgs contribution to Newark schools. None of this has to do with Trump and his work. The tech boom is responsible; as CPA said, the skill gap is ridiculous. Did you know that 45,000 Ubers work SF roads? There is your job bump.

They are horrible but they are cheap. That is the reason they are brought in.

A little anecdote here for you take it for what you will.
A guy I work with just became a citizen. He is nice enough. Does an OK job. Nothing special just comes in does his job nothing more nothing less. So I would say he is an average worker. He has been in the same position since he came in as an H1B worker from Bangladesh probably about 10 years ago. He told us once that he and his friends come here, hide their money so they can get benefits, we send them to school for free and then they bring their family members here for the same deal. Great for them, horrible for us.
The question is why are we paying for our own kids college and theirs? If we need people trained for jobs why not stop the H1B visa program and use that money to train the people here that want to learn? Offer them the same deal that the foreign workers are getting. Support then and send them to the school of their choice on the taxpayer dime to learn the technical skills that are supposedly lacking here rather than importing people to water down the industry that Americans have to pay to learn themselves.
Just like the "free trade" agreements these deals are all biased against America.

He would literally add upwards of 100K and more to his "costs" to lower his income. He paid tax on 150K instead of 300K. He had an american CPA that charged him BIG BUCKS to aid him. Friggin ridiculous. I stated how fucked up that was and he basically said... "We didnt come here to pay tax". Thats for white collar Americans. Most foreigners feel no need or responsibility to pay tax and will cheat at any opportunity.

Part of my concern over Cuomos free college in NY deal is that youre going to see more and more people like that hiding money and getting free college while us honest folk get fooked.

Yeah that is always the way. There are already tons of people gaming welfare, food stamps, Obamacare, taxes, etc what is one more, right? I think if we are going to go to a college entitlement it should be citizens only, people that have shown a propensity for doing well in school, no affirmative action and degrees for things that will actually help the country such as STEM only degrees. Give everyone the same entrance exam, some STEM addition to the SATs maybe. Get above a certain grade and get free state school if you are going for a degree in a STEM field. If you fail/drop out/change majors it is backed by a loan that you have to pay back. If you want to get some lame degree then you pay for it yourself.
